The family of William Lee Allison, age 74, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present for this Hero's funeral service and final Military Honors, we would be honored to do so.

William Allison enlisted in the US Army on June 20, 1967 and served during the Vietnam Era as a Military Policeman assigned to the 554 MP CO USAREUR spending 15 months overseas; awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman M-14 Ribbon; Discharged honorably 30 May 1969 and transferred to the USAR CON GP.  He was discharged at the rank of SP4.

In his earlier days, Bill loved to ride his Honda CB550 Motorcycle. Later in life he moved into 18 wheels, becoming a Semi-Truck Driver for LA County hauling cargo all over, including cross-country until he retired from truck-driving in 2007. During the years 2000 – 2007, Bill was a selfless caregiver to his 28-year career Navy dad who was dying of service-connected Mesothelioma. Bill was one of the early “Mr. Mom’s” while pursuing his education.  “Jack of All Trades”, Bill could fix anything around the house and work on all of the family cars.

He was also part of a program at Azusa Pacific College called “Boots to Books” that help returning veterans get a start on their education. He was also involved in a public access TV show that helped vets locally get access to that same program. An active member of the local Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization, he enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow vets, and often volunteered his time to support DAV events and community outreach.

William is survived by wife Dolly, former wife Dee, daughter Keri, son Darrin and five grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.

If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
