The father of SPC Charles Anthony Sanfilippo II, 27, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the funeral services of this American Hero.   It will be our privilege to do so.

SPC Sanfilippo, known as Anthony to family and friends, died from injuries he received in a single motorcycle accident in the early morning hours of Thursday, 20 MAR, 2014.

Anthony was born in San Diego on 29 JUNE 1986.   He attended Chula Vista Senior High School, Southwestern Community College and San Diego City College.

Anthony joined the Army National Guard on 26 FEB 2010.  He was a Combat Veteran who had recently returned from Afghanistan.  As a Bridge Crewmember/Combat Engineer, he provided bridge and rafting support for dry and wet gap crossing operations when a squad, section or platoon would tackle rough terrain in combat situations.  Bridge Crewmember/Combat Engineers also participate in combat operations as required.

Since his return from Afghanistan, Anthony had been serving with the Army National Guard in National City.  He was engaged to be married.

Anthony is survived by his mother Frances, father, Charles "Chuck" Sanfilippo Sr., two sisters Antoinette and Stephanie, son Dominique and fiancée Jennifer.

It will be our honor to accompany SPC Sanfilippo and his family from the church upon completion of the service to the cemetery for burial.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
