The family of Gregory Anthony Meza has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final farewell. We are honored to fulfill this request.

Our hero served in the US Army from April 1988 until his honorable discharge in May 2015, having achieved the rank of Master Sergeant.  He served in the infantry as a Special Forces Airborne Green Beret and served as Special Forces Medical Sergeant as well as many other capacities too numerous to list over his 27-year-career in the Army.  Following basic training at Ft. Benning, GA, Gregory was assigned to many duty assignments including Ft. Ord, CA, Thailand, the Philippines, South Korea, Berlin, Ft. Campbell, KY and Ft. Bragg NC.

As a civilian, Greg continued his work with the military as a government contractor.

Many of his hobbies and interest were fitness related. He competed in triathlons, enjoyed rock climbing, jujitsu, and scuba diving.

Our hero is survived by his wife, Catherine and two children, Gregory and Elizabeth, as well as two grandchildren, Kai and Johanna.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church to the cemetery, approximately 25 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
