The family of Richard Paul Brombach, age 92, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to join them in honoring their Hero. We shall be honored to participate at his final Military Honors .

Richard served his country in the United States Air Force following his membership in the ROTC at the University of Southern California {USC). After graduation our hero was sent to  Fuchu AB in Japan and later stationed at Tachikawa AB, a Military Airlift Command (MAC) base. He was a 1st Lieutenant working as a supervisor in the supply chain supporting our military at the conclusion of the Korean War.

His active service was from October 1953 to April 1955. He continued to serve in the reserves until 1962. For his service he was presented the National Defense, Korea, and United Nations Service Medals.

When Richard was attending USC he was track and field star and won a National Championship in the high jump. He was an alternate to the US 1952 Summer Olympic Games. Upon graduation he married his college sweetheart, Betty Jean, in this same chapel.

Following his active service he became Vice-President of the Clark Drugstore chain and later its CEO.  During their marriage of over 60 years, until Betty Jean's passing in 2017, they enjoyed travelling to over 100 countries around the world and often taking along children and grandchildren. They also provided for the college education of all 10 grandchildren.

Our hero is predeceased by his wife, Betty Jean (nee Clark), and is survived by their three daughters, Sharon Kinney, Lynne Heller, and Marianne Perkins and their spouses.  Our hero is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
