The family of William (Bill) Edward Sering has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their Hero’s final farewell. We are honored to fulfill this request.

Our Hero served in the US Army from 1968 April to 1970 March having achieved the rank of Spec 5 (E-5) upon his honorable discharge. He served in Vietnam as a Senior Vehicle Mechanic with the 173rd Airborne Brigade where he was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement in ground operations against hostile forces in February of 1970. He also received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Combat Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.

As a civilian, Bill worked for the San Marcos County Water District. He later worked in the commercial laundry equipment field and went on to own his own commercial laundry equipment company from which he retired. He was a loving family man with interests in all things space, stamps and US coins. He also loved camping as a family.

Our hero is survived by his loving wife of 49+ years, Donna. He leaves behind three daughters, Darcie, Stacey and Cassie, four grandchildren and two nieces.
