The family of Paul Eugene Hoover has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.   It will be our privilege to do so.

Paul passed away at the age of 92 of natural causes.

He joined the Navy on June 27th. 1946 & discharged in April, 1948. He reenlisted on Jan. 21st. 1951 & discharged as a USNR V-6 on May 12th. 1956.

When Paul was discharged he was awarded the WWII Victory Medal.  After leaving the Navy Paul had various government jobs for over 40 years. 8 years as a police officer & 27 years with the U.S. Immigration Service.
Paul loved telling stories, assembling and painting models, reading, writing poetry, camping, bowling, photography, and the outdoors. Paul was a member of American Legion Post 812 for 39 years. He was also a member of The Optimists Club and The Elks Club.

Paul is survived by his spouse Donna and 3 daughters and 1 son. He had 9 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.

The family is requesting the PGR to accompany them from the El Camino Mortuary to Miramar.
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will accompany the hero and his family from the mortuary  to his final resting place, approx. 5 miles Please see the time table if you would like to participate. We will meet you there for those who would rather go directly to the cemetery.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission, all PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely. 

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
