The family and the US Air Force have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the arrival of a Hero home to his family, we would be honored to do so.

SSgt Darin Syra, age 25, served in the US Air Force since 2012, and was currently assigned to 1C3 Command Post Pentagon.  Sadly he passed away while on active duty.

SSgt Syra loved serving in the USAF and was once a featured airman of the quarter while stationed at McConnell AFB in Kansas.  In addition to his duties, he enjoyed all outdoor activities, working on things around the house, and working on cars.

SSgt Syra is of Native American ancestry and his family is good friends with PGR Ride Captain from So Central Calif, Jess "Chief" Ahumada. Jess will be traveling with the family from Corcoran to LAX to meet the arrival of the plane bringing this Hero home, and will perform a Native blessing on the tarmac as the Hero is moved to the coach.

So Cal PGR will accompany the Hero and family from LAX to Frazier Park, where So Central Cal PGR will take over the accompany and continue on to Corcoran, CA.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the airport to Flying J Travel Plaza. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the Flying J, we will meet you there.
