The family of Edgar “Ed” A. Romo has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his final Military Honors. It will be our honor and privilege to do so.

Ed was born on November 9, 1941 and passed away on January 25, 2020.

Ed was commissioned in the United States Navy in June, 1964 and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG). He surrendered his commission and was honorably discharged March, 1970. He served aboard four different Destroyers and Destroyer Escorts during his service to our country, the USS Basilone DD824, USS Van Voohis DE1028, USS Koiner DER331 and USS Hoel DDG13. He spent much time off the coast of Vietnam in support of our troops during the Vietnam War.

After Ed’s time in the Navy, he became a real estate appraiser and retired in 1999. He then settled in Camarillo, CA, where he enjoyed sailing, motorcycles and golf.

Ed has been a long time member of the Patriot Guard Riders and American Legion Riders at Post 48 in Oxnard. Ed’s last PGR mission was on October 19, 2019.

Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Janice, 3 sons, a daughter, step-daughter, 2 grandchildren and his brother Andrew.  He will be missed by all, his family, his friends and his PGR brothers and sisters.
