The family of Clyde Daniel Kelly has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Clyde was born on December 6, 1946, and passed peacefully at home on March 14, 2023. He was 76 years old.

Clyde served proudly in the United States Army from June 1964 to June 1967. Clyde was a foster child that enlisted in the US Army when he was 17 years of age.  He served during the Vietnam War and was injured and left the service.  He earned the Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, One Overseas Service Bar 1st Class Gunner W/Mortar, Vietnam Service Medal Infantryman, and National Defense Service Medal.  He was never awarded a Purple Heart Medal.  He was discharged as a Specialist 4.

After his military service, he volunteered wherever he could, having volunteered at the VA Hospital for over 15 years.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 7347 and VFW Post 426 for many years.  He earned a community hero's commendation for saving the life of a child who was drowning.

He is predeceased by his wife, Sandra, who passed away in 2019.  He is survived by his daughters, Shani Lim (Miguel) and Valerie Gomez (Mike), and sons, Shaun and Tom, and numerous grandchildren.

“One straw at a time.”

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
