The family of Terry Marcum has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final journey. We are honored to fulfill this request.
Our hero enlisted in the US Army on 15 March 1973 and was honorably discharged 12 March 1976 at the rank of Sergeant E-5. He served with the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg as a ground-to-air missile specialist. During his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Good Conduct Medal and M-16 rifle Expert Badge.
As a civilian, Terry enjoyed a full career as a plumber/pipe fitter. His hobbies included sailing, golfing, woodworking, painting, and motorcycles. He was very talented at building very detailed miniature houses (3 and 4 ft. tall) and was a very talented painter, creating many beautiful canvas pieces. He maintained a garage full of off-road toys/watercraft and spent weekends teaching his children safe operating skills and riding with them.
Our hero leaves behind a daughter, Misty, and son, Terry Jr. He will be missed by sisters Kim and Tammy.
Note: This mission is less than typical for two reasons: 1. It is up in the high desert and a longer ride/drive than usual for those down the hill. 2. It is on a Sunday when many of you have family plans. I would appreciate as many of you who are able to attend, as would, of course, the hero’s family.
