Cpl Eric A. Lopez, 36, USMC/(AD) - Glendale, CA - 20 Feb

The United States Marine Corps and family of Cpl Eric A. Lopez, 36, have requested the Patriot Guard Riders attend their hero’s military honors.  We are privileged to fulfill their request.

Cpl Lopez was serving with the USMC Arty Btry 0 5/14 4th MarDiv, Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach, CA at the time of his passing.  Per his sister, “he was a very proud Marine.  He always wanted to be a Marine and when he finally got in, he was the oldest in the graduating class and was an honor graduate.”

In his civilian time, he was an EMT and worked armed security.

Eric enjoyed playing piano, singing, and unarmed combat known as grappling.  He was a person known to put everyone else before himself.  His absolute proudest was being a Marine.

Eric will be greatly missed by his son and daughter as well as his brother (also a Marine) and sister.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Marine.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church, to the cemetery, approximately six miles.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
