The family of Richard Norman Buffett “Duffy”, 92 years of age, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Duffy proudly served in the United States Air Force from Nov 1951 to Nov. 1955. Duffy was an Airman 1st Class, E3. He received the Medal of Occupancy (Germany), National defense service medal, and the good conduct medal.
After leaving the Air Force he had various sales positions, Fence Contractor and the owner of Viking Fence Company Inc. from Nov. 1963 to Aug 1992.
His hobbies were fishing, camping, relaxing at their house near San Felipe, Baja Mexico, He enjoyed shooting pool, and spending time with his family.
Duffy is survived by his 4 children Vicky, Rick, Randy, and Kristy. He had 13 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren.
Duffy was a member of the Elks lodge for over 15 years; he was a close friend of Santa Ken. Approx. two years ago Duffy said to me (Santa Ken) that he wanted to ride in the Patriot Guard trailer from the Elks Lodge to Miramar after his passing. We will do that.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
