The family of James Chambers has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final journey. We are honored to fulfill this request.
Our hero enlisted in the US Air Force in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1978 at the rank of Master Seargent. He served in Vietnam and earned the following medals during his emlistment: Air Force Good Conduct Medal, AF Longevity Service Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Following his military service, Clark served as a SBC county Sheriff (the oldest cadet to graduate the academy) and served for 8 years when he was medically retired after an injury during a foot chase gone wrong. He then moved to the private sector working as a security guard at St. Mary’s Hospital. After retirement he continued to serve his community as a volunteer at Food Pantries and leading Bible Study groups at his church. He enjoyed traveling to many destinations, Snorkeling and time with family.
James is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elizabeth and children Jamie, Kimberly, and Corley. He will be missed by 10 grand children and 2 Great grandchildren.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, all PGR members are welcome. “One Straw at a Time”
You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
