The family of Albert N. Hartwig have asked the Patriot Guard to be with them as they say their final good-byes to Albert, his wife and their daughter who will all be interred together on 8 June. It is an honor to be able to fulfill this request.
Albert was born on October 2
nd 1911 in W Brooklyn ILL, and passed away on July 14
th 1966. Albert was inducted into the US Army on 29 Nov 1943 Chicago ILL. He served until 1 April 1946.
Albert had various duties while serving in the European Theater of Operations - Truck Driver, Mail Clerk, Motor Sergeant, as well as being trained as a basic Artillery soldier. Her served with the 753rd Field Artillery Battalion and had duty in Northern France, Rhineland, and other areas of Europe and Africa. His awards and decorations include Central European, African, and Middle Eastern service medal along with the Good Conduct ribbon.
After his service to our country, he worked at Benjamin Electric Manufacturing Company of Des Plains Illinois. He Stocked Shelves, sorted orders and did general stock room duties.
Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested and all PGR members are welcome. We will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery, (approx. 20 miles). Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet the procession at the cemetery, please feel free to do so.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car).
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
