Joseph Hernandez, 67, USMC, FLO / MIRAMAR - 14 NOV 2025

(1/1)

rlparker@san.rr.com:
The family of Joseph Hernandez has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Joseph joined the Marine Corps in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1978. He was a corporal, he received the rifleman metal and a good conduct ribbon.

After the Marine Corps, he worked for McMahons Furniture where he would meet his future wife in 1987. They worked together until 1988 when they both left, McMahons. Valerie went to work for Amtech Elevator Services, Joe went to work at a moving company.  Then in 1998 Joe began to work at Amtech, with his wife, which was later bought out by Otis Elevator. In 2007 Joe left Otis and went to work for a contractor at 32nd Street, that supplied all the naval ships, so he had done a 360, started his career with the Marines serving his country and his last career was working to also serve his country. This is what made him most proud. Joe retired in 2017.

Everyone who knew Joe knew he was very quiet.  Joe loved his truck and woodworking. He built many tables and items for the house. His last major project was remodeling their kitchen.

He is survived by his wife Valerie Hernandez, mother, Carmen, his brothers, Ricardo and Ramon, sister Rebecca, his daughter Janet and 2 grandchildren.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
