A friend and member of the Greatest Generation has ended his final battle.

Alfred C. Nanez, 95, "Al"  to all his friends, was born in Gallup New Mexico on Jan. 20, 1923. and passed away Jan. 27. 2018 in Pico Rivera, Ca.

His lovely wife of 34 years, "Alicia Nanez", his large family, and many friends will be celebrating his life on Thursday, February 8, 2018, and have invited the PGR to honor this US Army Veteran on his last day of travel, we will be honored to do so.

Al joined the U S Army on Jan. 25, 1943, just after his 20th birthday, and served proudly until Dec. 31, 1945, both his induction and separation from service were completed at Fort Macarthur in California.

Al was in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, he served in the Northern Solomons and Southern Philippines Campains. Al was assigned to the 13th Antiaircraft Artillery Group and at the time of his discharge he had achieve the rank of Technician Fourth Grade.  Al was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campain Medal, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon, the World War II Victory Medal and was a Marksman with the M1 rifle.

Al and Alicia have been involved with the senior community for many years, devoting their time for the good of others.

NOTE; This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
