The family of LCpl Chase D. Sweetwood, age 19, and the US Marine Corps have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present for their Hero's arrival to San Diego for his funeral service, we would be honored to be there.

LCpl Chase D. Sweetwood was serving with the US Marine Corps and currently assigned to Bravo Company, BLT 1/4, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) when he sadly perished with other Marine brothers during a training accident aboard an Amphibious Vehicle that went down off the coast of So California on July 30, 2020.

Lance Corporal Chase Sweetwood turned 19 during the search. His birthday was on Friday, the day after the accident that would take his life, family members said. "Chase was one of the good ones in this life, and he was taken far too soon," his aunt wrote.

LCpl Sweetwood is survived by his family and friends and his brotherhood of Marines, he will not be forgotten.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the airport to the funeral home, approx 13 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet the procession at the funeral home please feel free to do so.

This mission involves an aircraft arrival. Arrival times can change at the last minute so please check this thread for any last minute changes before leaving

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
