The family of Lyle D. Kellogg has requested that the Patriot Guard Riders be present at Riverside National Cemetery where he will receive military honors for his service to our country. It will be our honor to be there.

Lyle D. Kellogg entered the United States Navy in November 1967 and was honorably discharged in August 1973. He served during the Vietnam war. His rank at time of discharge was SH2 - Ship's Serviceman Petty Officer 2nd Class.

After his tour of duty, Lyle worked at Office Depot and was a tech at Grundfos Pump Corporation.. He has had a long career with the VFW. He has held positions such as District 11 Commander in Fresno, Quartermaster in Pasadena, and most recently active in VFW Post 1956  in Sun City along with his wife who is President of the Auxiliary. He was also invited into the Military Order of the Cootie.
 
Lyle is survived by wife Kathy, sisters Kathleen and Roberta, brother George, sons David and Edward, 2 step sons, 2 step daughters, several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero from the staging area to his final resting place where he will receive military honors. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.
