The PGR has been invited by the Commander of American Legion Post 53 in Hemet, California to be present to honor one of their members as he is presented with the Silver Star award for heroism. We are honored to do so.

Don Simpson was born and raised in Hemet, California.  As soon as he graduated from Hemet High School he went into the US Army and fought with the 1st Cavalry.  In 1967 he was part of a battle that resulted in him saving several of his brothers in arms.

50 years later Don is being presented the Silver Star for this act of valor, Congressman Raul Ruiz will be presenting the award at the American Legion that Don is a member of.

This is our opportunity to recognize not just this great Hero, but all the Heroes from the Vietnam war, many of whom we are privileged to ride with in the PGR.  We attend so many funerals, it's wonderful that we can honor a Hero who is still with us.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
