The family of 1SG Ignacio "Iggy" Flores, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his final Military Honors. It will be our honor and privilege to do so.

Iggy enlisted in the United States Army on 28 January 1943 and was honorable discharged after 36 years of service, 27 years on active duty, and 9 more in the reserves. He was assigned to the Big Red 1 and took part in the D-Day landing on Omaha Beach.  Iggy retired as a First Sergeant and was award a Bronze Star, 3 Purple Hearts, and the Combat Infantry Badge along with countless other medals and ribbons. He began serving during WWII and continued serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

After his service, Iggy returned to Ventura County. He served as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 208 in Oxnard, volunteered in little league baseball as well as high school baseball. He also served as church recorder for 30 years.

Iggy is survived by a son and four daughters, 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying our Hero and his family from the church to his internment site for military honors. Please see the time table below if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
