George passed away Wednesday morning, October 17, 2018, at his home in Lompoc, California at the age of 81. George was born on August 21, 1937, in Hilo, Hawaii to Rose and Alejo Olivar.

George first enlisted in the National Guard and served 2 yrs, then in 1955 enlisted in the US Marine Corps.  He served 3 combat tours in Vietnam.  He also served as a drill instructor at Parris Island, and a recruiter in Illinois and Massachusetts.  He retired in December, 1982 at the rank of Sergeant Major.

After the Marine Corps he went to work for the Secret Service, serving as part of the Ronald Reagan Protective Division.  He retired from the SS in December 2002.

George loved firearms of many kinds and loved going to the shooting range, he was considered a sharp shooter.
