Part 2 of 2 parts

The family and the U.S. Army have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend and honor LTC Lawrence S. Singleton, it will be our honor to do so.

LTC Lawrence S. Singleton was on board a C-134 Globemaster military aircraft that was flying from McChord Air Force Base in Washington to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska when it crashed in a storm over an icy glacier.  All 52 members on board were lost and missing until 2 years ago when an Alaska National Guard helicopter spotted some debris over the melting glacier during a training exercise.  A rescue effort began which eventually resulted in 17 of those original 52 being identified and returned home.  LTC Singleton is one of those 17.

LTC Singleton, 48 yrs of age, served a long and illustrious career in the U.S. Army with service in WWII and Korea. He will be returned home to Santa Barbara for a proper burial with military honors.

This will be Part 2 of the grateful return of LTC Lawrence Singleton.  We will accompany the Hero from the mortuary to the cemetery where a service with full Military Honors will take place.

We expect maybe one family member, a niece, to be present. She never got to meet her Hero Uncle. The Patriot Guard will be his family on his final mission.  "Until they all come home".

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
