The Family of Patriot Guard Riders (Member) Douglas "Dug" Telfer, has invited us to attend their loved ones funeral Service. It would be our Honor.
Douglas began his career as a master mechanic in auto, moved into airplanes, and finished his career as an airplane inspector.
He loved riding his motorcycles (he had 3) in charity and veteran's events. He was highly interested and very knowledgeable on historical events, especially WWI, WWII, and LA history. He enjoyed camping and fishing. Creating holiday woodwork pieces to display throughout the year, growing vegetables and he was an amazing cook.
While "Dug" was not able to serve in the military himself, he had a lot of respect and love for those that did serve. He volunteered his time with Patriot Guards, American Legions, and Patriot and Paws to name a few.
He did not have any children of his own. However he played Santa every year for Toy runs and Boys and Girls clubs, did charity rides for children with brain injuries.
He had a love for rescuing animals, and he adopted 2, Harley and Bertha. He was in the process of having a sidecar added to one of his motorcycles to take Harley for a ride.
Unfortunately, "Dug" and his best pal, Harley passed away within days of each other. Their ashes will be spread together at a later date.
"Dug" leaves behind his Wife: Pamela, Mother: Barbara, Brother and sister-in-law Eric and Carolynn - Father: Ron preceded him in death. His funeral is set for March 8th at 1100 Hrs. at Lighthouse Memorials & Receptions (Rice Center) 5310 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, Ca 90503. Torrance, CA
