The family of George Junior Fanning, age 83, has invited the PGR to attend the service and Military Honors for their Hero, we would be honored to do so.

George Fanning enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in November 1949, and served in the Korean War.  He was honorably discharged in January, 1953 at the rank of Sgt E-5.

After the military George went to work for Cherry Textron where he worked for 42 years, retiring in 1995.  He was not satisfied to sit around enjoying retirement and went back to work part time for Orchard Supply where he worked for 10 yrs just retiring in 2013 at the age of 80.

George really enjoyed the job at Orchard as he was a handyman around the house and that was one of his hobbies in addition to everything about trains and tracking family genealogy.

George is survived by his wife of 64 yrs, Helen, 3 children, Donald, Norma and David, 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
