SHORT NOTICE!!!

The family of Anastacia “Pete” Panarites has invited the Patriot Guard to be present as they send their GREATEST GENERATION Hero to his final resting place. We are privileged and honored to do so.

Anastacia lived between April 1927 and August of 2021. He enlisted in the Navy in January 1945 at the age of 18 and was honorably discharged in November of 1949. He was present during the invasion of Okinawa prior to the end of WWII in 1945.  He also spent nine years (1950-59) on four different ships while serving with the Merchant Marines and civilian military transport.

As a civilian, Pete’s career was varied. He held several positions as a chief electrician for the Department of the Navy, a truck driver, and mechanic. He also worked for a radio station, sold office equipment, and owned a pilot car service. His hobbies included camping, RC planes, fishing, golf, and motorcycles. Pete also enjoyed umpiring girls’ softball.

Pete survived by three children Donna, Don, and Sheila as well as 26 grand- and great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death is his wife, Maureen and two sons.

For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery (less than 10 miles). Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
