The family of Richard R. Havlena has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders to honor this American Hero; it will be our honor to do so.

Richard served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam from 1962 to 1968 and was honorably discharged as Radioman 2nd Class.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Richard worked for Verizon for thirty-five years maintaining equipment at the Los Angeles County Fair.

Richard enjoyed watching NASCAR and being surrounded by all eleven of his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his wife Maureen of fifty years and daughter Christine. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
