It is an honor the family of Joseph Gilbert Sanchez invites the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his funeral services and military honors.

Mr. Sanchez served in the Navy in WWII from 1942 to 1944, serving as head cook, Officers Club, Midway Island.

After his honorable discharge, Mr. Sanchez worked as a butcher and truck driver for Swift & Co. and American Lamb for 30 years.

Mr. Sanchez loved to play the lottery, cards and follow horse racing.

Mr. Sanchez' brother, Joseph "Ralph" Sanchez, was MIA/KIA, 23 DEC 44 in Germany.  67 years later, in  March of 2011, Ralph was found and identified. The Patriot Guard Riders participated in reuniting Mr. Sanchez with his brother as we accompanied his brother from LAX to Rose Hills Cemetery and participated in his funeral and military honors.  At that time, Mr. Sanchez was presented with his brother's Silver Star.

Mr. Sanchez was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 yrs, Dolores, and is survived by sons. Richard and Ron; daughters, Yvonne Chase & Stephanie Rauert; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
