The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family and the USMC to attend the send off of this Hero from California to his home state of Maryland.  It would be our honor to do so. PGR in Maryland will receive the hero and attend services for him.
 
Pfc Douglas Rivas-Rauda, age 20, was shot and killed in an incident in San Bernardino in the early morning hours of April 17.
 
Pfc Rivas-Rauda had been a Marine for 8 months, having been his squad leader in boot camp at Parris Island, SC.  He was stationed at Marine Air Ground Combat Station in 29 Palms and was part of the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division.  He was looking forward to his first deployment with his unit.

California will accompany this Hero and his family from the funeral home in Yucca Valley, CA to LAX to be returned to his home state of Maryland.

This mission involves an aircraft arrival. Arrival times can change at the last minute so please check this thread for any last minute changes before leaving.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
