The family of  MMC Carroll S. Maupin has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in the services of their loved one and to honor this American Hero.  We are honored to do so.

Carroll served in the US Navy for 30 years serving in both WWII and the Korean War, and serving on both the USS Sibley and USS Essex.  He enlisted in 1936 - 1956 and then spent another 10 years in the Fleet Reserves.  Carroll received the Asiatic Pacific Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal, American Theatre, American Defense w/Fleet Clasp, and Good Conduct Medal.

Carroll loved working on cars and was a generous person with his time and his resources.  Carroll's son, Carroll Jr. "Carl" passed away only days before Carroll and they will be honored together at their memorial service. Carroll Jr. will be buried the following day at a private service.

Carroll was pre-deceased by his wife Norma and is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those going directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car)
