The family of
Michael Leroy Clawson has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Michael, 73, served his country in the US Navy from 1961 to 1967, time that included service aboard the Gearing-class destroyer, USS Benner (DD 807), also known as “THE MIGHTY B”.
In his post-military life, Michael was a drywall contractor.
Michael is survived by his 4 daughters, 1 son, 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family has requested an accompaniment to the church service in Alpine where this hero will receive military honors.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this hero and family to the church service where he will receive military honors. Michael Leroy Clawson 11/27/1944 – 8/11/2017You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
