The family of Daniel “Casper” Denhart has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Daniel (Casper) was a dearly loved Patriot Guard Rider for over 9 years and completed hundreds of missions. We all miss him so much and for so many reasons. His infectious smile, his go-getter personality and his sense of humor are just a few of his attributes that made him so special.
Daniel was born March 14th, 1943, right here in San Diego. He grew up in a loving family, attended elementary school and then graduated from Grossmont high school in 1961. Daniel joined the Army shortly after and spent about 6 years in active duty as a tank mechanic and then spent several more years on Army reserves. During active duty, Daniel spent time in Germany and bought a 1965 BSA motorcycle and rode all over Germany. His love for motorcycles never went away.
Daniel met and married Maryann and they had two children: Connie and Keith. They bought a home in La Mesa where they raised their kids and lived there until he passed. He also had one granddaughter that he loved spending time with and even had Ally in a Patriot Guard Mission or two. She even took on her grandpas love for nature and now works at the San Diego Zoo.
Daniel owned several motorcycles and could be seen kicking tires at San Diego Harley almost weekly. Even with having COPD for many years, he didn’t let that stop him. He strapped his oxygen to his back and hopped on his bike every chance he had. Daniel also had a huge passion for fly fishing. He loved talking fly fishing to anyone that would listen to and passed on fly fishing magazines to help spread his love for the sport.
We will miss you more than words can say, Casper!
