The family of Russell Charles Schultz has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their Hero’s final journey. We are honored to fulfill this request.

Our Hero enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1976 at the rank of GySgt, E-7. During his time of service, he was awarded the National Defense Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Presidential Unit Citation, and Sharpshooter Badges for the M-14 Rifle and 45 Cal Pistol. While serving, he worked as a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician.

Following his service, Russell worked as a civilian contracted mechanic for the Marine Corps for 15 years and the Santa Fe Railroad for 6 years. Russell enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and working.

Our Hero is preceded in death by his wife, Kiyoko and son, Russell. He left behind his wife Luck, son George, three grandchildren and a brother George.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate.
