The family of Louis Anthony Oddo, age 77, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the military honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. We are honored to fulfill their request.
Lou was born on June 25, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York. During the Vietnam War, Lou watched as many of his friends were drafted, and with a deep sense of duty, he chose to enlist in the Navy. He served courageously, completing four tours in Vietnam, an experience that left an indelible mark on him.
After the military, Lou launched his career in real estate. He met the love of his life, Diana, and they married on March 10, 1973, embarking on a love story that spanned 52 years. They had two daughters, Gina & Dani. In 1977, they built their dream home in Buena Park, California. Both he and Diana volunteered with the church and spent many years helping others in the community.
In 1987, he purchased a 1960 Silver Cloud II Rolls-Royce and immediately joined a Rolls-Royce club, where he and Diana once again found a welcoming community of friends. He took great pride in his car; using it to drive family and friends on special occasions including chauffeuring his daughters to their weddings to the song “Going to the Chapel.”
He was a man of great love, boundless generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith.
Lou is survived by his wife, Diana; daughters, Gina Oddo and Danielle (Michael) Oddo Betance; and four grandkids: Chase & Ayden Matheney, and Molly & Lucy Betance.
