The family of Jose Torres Jr.  has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Jose Joined the United States Army January 15, 1949, and was honorably discharged Jun 13, 1952. During his time, he went to fight in Korea with the 2nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion. During his time, Jose received the Korean Service Medal and the Korean Pres Unit Citation. Jose’s Major General wrote him a letter about his efforts and the accomplishments of his infantry. On February 12th to the 14th in 1953, Jose was part of the defense of Wonju in the bitter cold where they smashed the attacks of 12 Chinese Divisions, over some of the toughest terrain in the world.  They fought in temperatures of -30!

Jose was a mechanic after his time in the military and married Paula. They had 3 daughters together. Paula passed in 2010. Jose had a brother that also served in the Army. Jose and his wife went on to have 8 grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
