It is an honor the family of E.E. “Dobby” Dobberpuhl requests the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their loved ones funeral and military honors.

 

Dobby proudly served in the Army during WWII.  Dobby was assigned to the Army 494th AA Artillery Gun Battalion, Battery B, in Iceland, Normandy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.  Dobby was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism during one of his many battles.  Dobby was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

 

Dobby worked for the Southern California Gas Company for 33 years, retiring in 1979.  Dobby was a Life Member and past Commander of American Legion Post 422, Rialto, CA.  Dobby was a devoted member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Rialto since 1956.

 

Dobby is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mertie (Mertie is 105 years old, bed ridden, but is insisting she attend Dobby’s funeral); son, William, daughter, Jane;  two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

0930 - Flag line and dignified transfer of hero to coach. (PGR may be needed as pallbearers)

 

0945 - KSU to grave site for flag line and military honors (nearby on Green Acres Cemetery grounds)

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please ride/drive safely.
