This will be a two part mission, this is Part 2

The Patriot Guard is honored to be a part of the arrival and services honoring CPT Jennifer M. Moreno at the invitation of her family and the U.S. Army.

CPT Moreno attended nursing school at University of California, San Francisco with the specific goal of becoming an Army nurse.  She excelled at everything she did and was chosen as 1 of 7 women to form a Special Ops team working along side Army Rangers and Green Berets in Afghanistan to gather intelligence.  She lost her life along with 3 others when her unit was attacked by an IED, 30 others were wounded.  She was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart and promoted to Captain.

CPT Moreno was called Jenny by her friends and described as unassuming, with an infectious smile, a goofy prankster and an enthusiastic snowboarder.  She was a dedicated, gifted nurse who was eager to serve her country, her fellow soldiers, and her beloved Army.  It was unheard of for a nurse to be selected for a Special Ops team, she thought it was funny when the Army Rangers and Green Berets working along side her found out she was a nurse, they would be amazed.  Those who knew her were not amazed at all.

Jenny is survived by her mother, Marie Moreno, a brother and two sisters.
