This is Part 1 of a 2 Part mission.

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to be present to honor and accompany this American Hero.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Sgt Eric Seaman, married father of two, of Murrieta, California, was one of six U.S. Marines who died when their Camp Pendleton-based UH-1Y helicopter crashed in mountainous terrain after dropping off food in remote villages decimated by recent earthquakes in Nepal.

Eric Matthew Seaman was born in Wildomar, California. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2009. Eric trained at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.  He completed Marine Combat Training and reported to Pensacola, Florida for Crew Chief Indoctrination Training.  Upon graduation, Eric selected UH-1Y Hueys, and reported to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Training Squadron 303 in Camp Pendleton for Advanced Crew Chief training.

On June 12, 2010, Sgt Seaman joined Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469 ‘Vengeance’. While with Vengeance, he completed a combat deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as well as graduated from the Weapons and Tactics Crew Chief Instructor course.

Sgt Seaman is survived by his wife Samantha, his son Roman, and his daughter Ryleigh.

Sergeant Seaman received the Air Medal with Strike/Flight bronze numeral ‘5’, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with two bronze stars, and the NATO ISAF Afghanistan Medal.

The PGR will meet Sgt Seaman's plane as it arrives in San Diego.  We will provide a flag line then accompany our Hero and family to the mortuary in Murrieta, a distance of approximately 67 miles.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying our hero and his family from the airport to the mortuary. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.  If you would rather go directly to the mortuary, we will see you there.

***Note: This mission involves an aircraft arrival. Arrival times can change at the last minute
