The family of  Lt. Col. Herbert Clayment Gore USAF (Retired) has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany and be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

 Lt. Col. Gore is a WWII, Korea and Vietnam Vet. He started his military career in the Army Air Corp and served as a Navigator / Bombardier in the South Pacific where he participated in 37 combat missions aboard B-24's  and amassed a total of 300+ hours. He also flew in B-26's totaling 21 combat missions and amassed a total of 160+ hours for  grand total of 58 combat missions and more than 460 combat hours doing WWII. He got out after WWII and joined the Army Air Corp Reserves and worked with his brother raising cattle.

Along came the Korean War and with his since of patriotism he decided to go back to active duty with the newly formed U.S. Air Force and off to Korean he went. During his time there he participated in a total of 27 combat missions & 250+ combat hours aboard a B-29.

During the Vietnam War he was finally on the ground and stationed in Da Nang South Vietnam where he amassed a total of 8,616 combat hours. During the Tet Offensive of 1968 he and two other individuals formed a bucket brigade to throw 5 gallons of water at a time on several stacks of 500 lb High Explosive bombs. For his action he was awarded the Bronze Star w/V Device for Valor. To him he was just doing his job just like anyone else would have done in those circumstances.
 
In civilian life Mr Gore raised cattle with his brother until his retirement in the 1970's.
His wife of 66 yrs pass Dec 2013.
And leaves behind 3 sons John, Robert Vietnam Vet Sgt. and James Medic Vietnam, 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

1200 - Flag line for Dignified transfer to the coach.

1210 -  KSU and accompany to Riverside National Cemetery

1245 - Arrive at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA; staging  area 5 for family, staging area 8 for PGR) https://goo.gl/maps/u9wDVy7XKZR2

1300 - KSU to assigned shelter for Flag Line, service and full Military Honors

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please ride safely and arrive quietly as service will be between 1030 & 1200
