The family of USAF veteran Duane E. Bueltel, 84, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Duane served in USAF from Apr 1955 to Aug 1958.

Duane graduated from ROTC at Creighton University in Omaha before joining the Air Force. He attended Primary Pilot Training at Spence AFB, Georgia then Basic Pilot Training at Laredo AFB, Texas before being stationed at AFFTC Edwards AFB in California. There he served as a Fighter Test Pilot for 3 years before his career was cut short after ejecting through a canopy on a T-33.   At the time of his discharge he had attained the rank of 1st Lt.

Duane went on to serve the Federal Government for another 30 years before retiring to Laclede, ID.  He was kept busy by his wife of 52 Years Mary Jo who passed in August of 2008.

He is survived by his two sons, his two daughters, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Our hero’s son, Douglas, is a member of the PGR and will be riding with us to Miramar National Cemetery.

For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying our hero and his family to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
