The family of Eustacio M. Aguirre has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Eustacio was a Private in the U.S. Army. He served from 16 June 1941 to 29 November 1945. Eustacio served in World War II as a Military Policeman with the 873rd Engineer Aviation Battalion and the 9th Service Command. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater in June 1945 and was in the Battle of Luzon. Eustacio was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Eustacio, born in 1920, passed away in July 1994 and never had a military funeral. Eustacio is the father of one of our Patriot Guard Riders members, Linda Jones. She and her husband Wiley have made arrangements with the Army to do full military honors for this WWII hero.

After leaving the Army Eustacio became a truck driver in the Imperial Valley area. His hobby was he loved to cook.

Eustacio is survived by his son Richard, daughters Erlinda, Andrea, Lucelle, and Percilla. He had 26 grandchildren and 50 great-grandkids.

The honor ceremony is scheduled for 28 February at Fort Rosecrans. Let’s come and join one of our own family members and a member of our “Greatest Generation”.

There will be no accompaniment, the entire mission is at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery.
