We have once again been invited by the Skyforest Elks Lodge for a wonderful event they sponsor for disabled Vets from Loma Linda VA Hospital Assisted Living facility.
Each year they sponsor a fishing trip for 20 Veterans who reside at the VA in care facility. These Veterans are so ill they cannot be taken care of on an outpatient basis, many of them suffer from combat related health issues such as Agent Orange exposure, some of them are in hospice care. Some will be in wheelchairs, some will be on crutches, and some can walk. We will help however we might be needed.
The Lodge picks them up at the VA Hospital by bus and takes them, along with several caregivers, for a day of fishing on boats on the lake and lunch, then returns them so the VA.
They would like us to accompany the bus and stay with the Vets enjoying lunch with them and then accompany back to the hospital in the afternoon.
This is a chance for us to honor Heroes while they are still here and help them enjoy a day of fun when their lives are probably not very fun at this point. Please bring your flags, your smiles, your handshakes, and your thank you's and be ready for a great day!
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring these Military Veterans. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the Heroes from the VA Hospital to Lake Arrowhead and back. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
