The family of Kenneth Earl Whitman has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the graveside service and military honors of thier Hero, it will be our honor to do so.

Kenneth was born December 19, 1928 in Compton, California. His parents were Damon R. & Rosa Whitman.

Kenneth attended Compton schools and Jr College graduating in 1947. He also attended UCLA. He married Dorothy E Allen October 1, 1950. He met his love while attending Compton J.C. He worked for Kistner Curtis & Wright from 1949 to 1953 and then went to Ralph M Parsons Architect and Engineering till his Retirement in 1992 as a Mechanical Engineer and Senior Project Manager. He was a Registered Engineer in the State of California and Mississippi and working on rocket and launching.

Kenneth joined the US Naval Reserves in 1948 and taught Electronics during his time in the Naval Reserves till 1953.

Ken was not a person to sit still, he always had a project to do. Before and after Retirement he loved working with wood making beautiful pieces of furniture. He also loved photography and became a pen and ink artist doing many drawings doing many drawings of animals and his Christmas cards for 20 years.

Ken belonged to Downey Tennis Club in 70’s then golfing became his passion. He was a member of Rio Hondo Men’s Golf Club and Parson’s Men’s Golf Club.

He loved to travel! From Pakistan, Germany, England, France, Italy, Thailand, China, Japan, Philippines, New Zeland, Australia, Jamaica, Kenya and Tanzania.

He loved to fly even his own plane he had in Long Beach!

Funny was his middle name as he told jokes a lot!

Kenneth is survived by his loving family: Wife, Dorothy Whitman, Daughters, Katherine (Geoffery) Hichborn, Lisa (John) Ives, Annette (Michael) Daniel, 9 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, and other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
