The family of Thomas F. La Madrid has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Thomas La Madrid was born Feb. 03, 1950, and entered his eternal rest on March 22, 2026, he was 76.

Tommy proudly served in the United States Army from Jan. 1975 – Jan. 1979.   During his enlistment he served in the Panama Canal Zone, earned his Parachutist Badge, M16 Marksmanship Badge, Good Conduct Medal and was in the Army Rangers Arctic Training School in Alaska. Tommy achieved the Rank of Sgt.

Tommy was a very skilled mechanic, working on everything from Rolls Royce’s and other exotic cars, diesel equipment, motorcycles and even opening his outreach ministry “God’s Garage” to pass those skills and knowledge along to the students at San Diego Christian College and his many friends. Working and retiring from the County of San Diego he was a Sr. Equipment Operator.

Tom is Face to Face with Jesus now, he was an active member of Shadow Mountain Community Church and their Men’s Group for many years. He is preceded by the passing of all his immediate family except his brother Karl and numerous cousins, notably Kelly Hicks and Frank Ames. Tommy especially loved his adopted grandchildren Carlos and Thea

Tommy “TOXALOT” was a well-respected member of the Saddle Tramps M/C for many years. He enjoyed many Road Trips to Laconia Bike Week, Sturgis, Tombstone, the Redwoods with his club and many others that called him their friend and Brother! Tommy even took a Solo trip to Alaska on his Harley Davidson.  I am Blessed and Honored to have known Tommy for 25 years and I miss you my Brother RIP

The extended family of Tommy La Madrid have been active in the history of San Diego and especially Lakeside for over 100 years.  Tommy is one of the founders of the Lakeside Bulls Only Rodeo. He and his fellow Optimists Club members have given many hours and funds raised to help the youth of the East County and Lakeside achieve their dreams and ambitions
