The family of Marvin David Ost has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero at his Final Military Honors. It will be our privilege to fulfill their request.
Marvin proudly served in the United States Army from March 1970 to January 1972. At the time of separation from active duty, he was honorably discharged at the rank of SP-4 (E-4). His MOS was 63C20, Tracked Vehicle Mechanic. He earned ribbons including: NDSM, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 device, and two overseas service ribbons. During his R&R leave, Marvin returned to his home in Seward, Nebraska to marry his high school sweetheart: the love of his life, Dorothy Jean Ost. They were married for 54 years until her passing last December.
Following his proud active-duty service, (he received a 14-month early out) he was transferred to the Nebraska Army National Guard for the balance of his military commitment. In his civilian life, Marvin was a heavy equipment mechanic until his retirement. He was active in the VFW, The Tuesday Morning Menifee Veterans Breakfast Group, and enjoyed bicycling with his local bicycle club; he recently switched to an electric tricycle.
Marvin was preceded by Dorothy and the two of them will be interred together today. Our hero is survived by their children and their spouses: Gregg and Dina Premer, Clay and Casie Ost, Kemp and Jamie Goode, and Joshua Ost. He will also be missed by their eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild as well as his two sisters, Gloria and Rose.

If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just who we are honoring.
