The United States Army and the family of CW2 Ryan Epley have asked the Patriot Guard to be with them as their hero and loved one begins his final flight home.

CW2 Epley was a UH-60 Pilot  assigned to B Company, 2916th Aviation Battalion assigned to Ft. Irwin, California.  He unexpectedly passed away at his home in Barstow earlier this month.

This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR are welcome, we will accompany our hero from the mortuary to Ontario Airport.  Please see the time table below if you would like to participate.

Time Table for Wednesday, 29 November 2023:

0715 - Stage at Akes Family Funeral Home, 9695 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92503

0730 - Mission Briefing

0800 - Flag Line for dignified transfer from the facility to the coach, and KSU to Ontario Airport, 540 Hellman Rd Building 1, Ontario, CA 91761

0900 - est. Arrival at Southwest Cargo - Flag Line for dignified transfer from the coach to the facility.

NOTE: You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum.
