The family of Albert Santillana Acosta has requested the Patriot Guard honor their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grand father this Friday, 29 Jan, 0900 at the St. Josephs Catholic Church, corner of Barstow Rd and Mtn View (505 E. Mountain View, Barstow, CA 92311). It will be our honor to do so. This will be a Flag Line Only (FLO) mission.
Albert was a proud member of the USMC from 1960-64 attaining the rank of Lance Corporal until his discharge. He was always proud of his service to his country. Unfortunately the family is having difficulty locating his discharge papers at this writing so information on his awards, deployments, etc are unknown. It is known, however, that he served in Korea and other SE Asia locations.
His military discharge was at the USMC Logistics Base in Barstow and he decided to settle here afterwards. He was born in Bay City, TX and his daughter, Jackie called him a proud Texican. Jackie is a PGR member in South Carolina. Albert and his wife, Angie, enjoyed fellowship with the local American Legion, where he was the sergeant at arms for over 20 years. Daughter Jackie, herself a veteran, was the treasurer there before moving to SC. He enjoyed hunting, raising dogs, boxing, leatherwork, and spoiling grandchildren.
Our hero is survived by his wife Angie, children Jacqueline, Sheryl, and Albert; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
We will honor the family with our presence and hoisting of the flags outside the church.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please ride/drive safely.
