The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by very dear friends and family of Vietnam Vet, Jerry Pugh to assist in his traveling home to So California from Oklahoma.
Jerry's home for most of his adult life was in Orange County here in So Calif. Some time ago he retired and decided to move back to Oklahoma to be with family who lived there. He became ill some months ago and has been diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer and has been given 2 to 6 months to live.
Jerry wants to come home to So Calif to spend his last days and hopes to be admitted to Fisher House at the VA Hospital in Long Beach. He will stay with family members in Anaheim until that happens.
Jerry has always been very involved in supporting and helping other Veterans also. He was the co-founder of the At Ease of Orange County chapter, an organization that works with Active Duty, Veterans and families by providing therapeutic services for PTSD issues.
Jerry has a close and very supportive group of friends here in So Cal who are making this possible for him and they have reached out to the PGR so that we can show this Hero that people care.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the airport to the family home, approx 16 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
