The family of SGT MAJ Edward S. Bardwell, 88, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their loved one on his final journey.  We are extremely honored to accept. 

Sergeant Major Edward Steven Bardwell, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in Hemet, CA.

Edward was born to Delingham and Edna Bardwell on Wednesday, September 14, 1927 in Poltan, Vermont. Edward spent an honorable career with the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served our country during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam for 42 years. During his duty, he was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and served as an Honor Guard for many years after retirement from active duty at Riverside National Cemetery. Edward was well known in our community…he was “our Hero”, volunteering every moment he could. Edward is survived by his step-son Alan (April) Richardson; step-son, Bill DeMarco, niece Pam Green, and many family, friends, and comrades. The family will be receiving guests from 10:00am-11:00am at San Jacinto Assembly of God Church 300 West 1st Street San Jacinto. CA 2016. Services will begin at the church at 11:00 am. Graveside Services will be immediately following at 1:31 pm at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Boulevard Riverside, CA 92518. Edward will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know him and who loved him.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. If you would like to participate in honoring this hero but do not want to accompany him from The Church to Riverside National Cemetery, please join up with us at the cemetery.

Note: Please arrive as quietly as possible as church services will on going during our staging.

1200 - Flag line as SGT MAJ Bardwell is brought out to awaiting coach.

1215 - KSU to Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518 https://goo.gl/maps/JGh2DNDf7Xz

1300 - Estimate arrival at Riverside National Cemetery, staging area 9.  Service will be at Amphitheater.

1315 - KSU To Amphitheater for Services and Military Honors.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
