The family of Ruben Thomas Garza has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their hero’s final journey. We are honored to fulfill this request.

Our hero enlisted in the US Army in June,1976 and was honorably discharged February, 1983 at the rank of Sgt. E-5. During his enlistment he served in Germany and Ft. Irwin, CA. While enlisted he worked as a Multi-Channel Communications Operator. He was discharged having earned the following awards: Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal,
M-16 Rifle Expert Badge and the Overseas Service Ribbon.

As a civilian, Ruben worked as a truck driver and Maintenance Foreman.
He loved the outdoors, hiking, dancing and giving advice.

Our hero is survived by daughters Salina and Amanda and son, Ruben. He will be missed by 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

1245: Mission Briefing.

1315: Dignified transfer of casket to coach.

1400: ETA at RNC and move to staging lane. 

1430: Shelter for honors and services.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the Mortuary to his final resting place at RNC. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
