The families of SGT William Harrell, USMC, CPL Claudio Patino IV. USMC, SGT Jason Weaver, USA, and the students of El Dorado High School invite the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in honoring these Fallen Heroes.

These Heroes were El Dorado High School alumni:

SGT William Harrell, USMC,  Class of '92,  KIA   8 APR 04

CPL Claudio Patino, USMC,  Class of '06,  KIA 22 JUN 10

SGT Jason Weaver, USA,      Class of '07,  KIA   3 MAR 11

The PGR was honored to be there for the arrival and services of CPL Patino and SGT Weaver at the time of their return to their families and their burial.

The below information are excerpts from the El Dorado Veterans Web Site.

On 22 JUN 06 CPL Claudio Patino IV died while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  An unknown artist drew a chalk memorial on a cinder-block wall next to the high school campus, it read:  "We love you CPL Patino, may we never forget".

Students, family and the community drove by the memorial and saw it as a constant reminder that one from their own community gave his life for their freedom.

Over the next three years the wall was washed off and the unknown artist would return and draw a fresh memorial.  In 2013 the wall was washed once again.

A high school student and his family drove by the blank wall one day and wondered who was the artist, who washed the wall and why?  How must the Patino family feel about the blank wall?  How could the memorial that represented the ultimate sacrifice of a student who fought for freedom be something that could be washed away?  And more importantly, how can El Dorado High School future generations be made aware of the sacrifices of their alumni?

The student wanted to build a permanent memorial on the high school campus.  The student researched and found the three heroes listed above were alumni and made that ultimate  sacrifice.

On Veterans Day 2013 the families of the three heroes came together for the first time as "The Fallen Heroes Memorial" was dedicated.

The Patriot Guard Riders are honored to participate in this memorial service.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring these American Heroes.
